Taping is not especially tough, and it makes painting less difficult and assurances crisp edges, even if you have a less-than-steady hand with a brush.
Tear off a tape strip about 2 feet long. Set it down gently with one edge abutting the surface area to be painted.
Get rid of the tape while the paint is still damp by gradually and thoroughly pulling away from the paint line at a 45-degree angle. If the tape is left on till the paint dries, eliminating it can result in peeling.
